Weekly Update - 3.27.22

Good afternoon and welcome to our Weekend Update.

First and foremost, Shelley and I want to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Pennsylvania State Troopers Martin Mack III and Branden Sisca. These brave officers were tragically killed in the line of duty. Every day, thousands of brave men and women in law enforcement make sacrifices to protect and serve their communities.

This is a horrific tragedy. Our police officers regularly risk their lives to protect our safety; they deserve our full support now and always. This is a tremendous loss for our Commonwealth.

Weekly Update - 3.20.22

Good morning and welcome to our Weekend Update.

First, I want to express my deep appreciation for your support in helping our campaign secure our position on the ballot in the 9th Congressional District. We are the only Republican candidate on the ballot. I don’t take this level of support lightly, nor the responsibility you have placed in me. We are committed to implementing an America First/Pennsylvania First agenda that puts the concerns and needs of the working families residing in our district at the forefront.

While much of the attention is focused on the news of the day in Washington, and rightfully so, we are working just as hard for you at home. We recently announced funding for several critical projects across the District, including funding for critical infrastructure and projects for educational institutions to help expand important programs that are preparing individuals for family-sustaining careers. Weekly Update - 3.13.22

Good afternoon and welcome to our Weekend Update.

The nation's attention remains focused on Russia and Vladimir Putin's continued invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine continues to show unbelievable resilience against an overwhelming Russian force. President Zelenskyy has proved to be an example to the world for his bravery and passion in the face of a tyrant hellbent on destroying Ukraine. Putin's actions are egregious as his forces have taken to despicably attacking women and children.

I joined Fox Business Tonight to discuss President Zalenskyy's requests for additional support from NATO and the United States. While the Biden administration continues to show weakness, the answer is strength. The only one who should be fearful is Putin. He should be concerned that his vaunted military is not performing very well. The United States must stand with Ukraine. I am pleased that we have finally banned U.S. imports of Russian oil. America's national security is directly impacted by our nation's ability to be energy independent. Click here or below to watch my interview.

Weekly Update - 3.6.22

Good afternoon and welcome to our Weekend Update.

Our continued thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine. On Saturday, I joined other members of the U.S. Senate and House on a video conference call with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. The Ukrainian Embassy arranged the call.

President Zelenskyy expressed that the Ukrainian people need our support as they continue to fight back against Russian military forces. They need support in the form of additional weapons and more pressure applied to Putin in the form of sanctions and trade restrictions.

Unfortunately, Biden's foreign policy is a disaster and can be best described as too little, too late. This week, as Biden praised Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his courage, I couldn't help but remember that Biden's initial reaction was to offer Zelenskyy a ride to abandon his people and effectively give up Ukraine to Russia. President Zelenskyy bravely, now infamously, responded, "I need ammunition, not a ride." His words have inspired the people of Ukraine to fight back against Russia… but the United States and Biden should have done and still could do more for the people of Ukraine.

Weekly Update - 2.27.22

Good afternoon and welcome to our Weekend Update.

This week, there is a lot to discuss, particularly some important news about our re-election campaign to the 9th District. I must begin by discussing the issue unfolding in Ukraine. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine who did nothing to provoke this aggression, and innocent citizens are being slaughtered as a result. However, the resolve of the Ukrainian people is strong, and we all must stand with them.

Weekly Update - 2.13.22

Good afternoon and welcome to our Weekend Update.

We are all monitoring the situation in Ukraine. Reports indicate a Russian invasion is imminent. Russia clearly saw the Biden administration’s disastrous and tragic withdrawal from Afghanistan as an opportunity. Biden is weak, and Vladimir Putin knows it.

Ukraine, like most nations, chooses Democracy and freedom over authoritarian rule. The US and NATO Allies must unite with a definite set of consequences should Russia invade. There is no question the Biden administration has blundered another international crisis. But it may not be too late. If we gain the commitment from Germany to halt the Nordstream pipeline, and remove Russia from the SWIFT, (Society for Interbank Financial Telecommunications), now, Putin may blink. The weakness and poor planning are a telltale for other future Russian aggression as well as China's threats over Taiwan.

Weekly Update - 2.6.22

Good afternoon and welcome to our Weekend Update.

This week, I launched transparency legislation to add additional scrutiny and light to the “midnight express flights” of illegal immigrants being transported from the southern border into our communities. After meeting with the Biden administration about these flights, incredulously, I was told it was a coincidence these flights occurred in the middle of the night without any notification to local elected officials or the communities. Well, I was born at night, but not last night. This administration has no credibility on this issue.

Currently, we don’t know when these flights and bus trips are taking place, the final destination of the illegal immigrants, their criminal records, any health concerns, nor are we preparing the local communities, schools, law enforcement, or health workers for their arrival. The American people deserve better.

Joined by more than 30 of my Republican colleagues, I introduced the Immigration Transparency and Transit Notification Act, which requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Health and Human Services (HHS) to notify the relevant federal, state, and local officials about the transportation, by bus or plane, and placement of illegal immigrants or unaccompanied alien children (UAC) in their sate.
