Weekend Update - 6.14.26

Good morning, and welcome to our Weekend Update. This week, I questioned experts from the CIA, U.S. Treasury, and others during my Financial Services Committee Republican Subcommittee hearing on Chinese money laundering networks that are financing drug traffickers like the Sinaloa Cartel. These networks are laundering billions of dirty cartel dollars to fuel the fentanyl crisis. This is a highly sophisticated operation that is killing American citizens. President Trump has taken bold action to address the fentanyl crisis, reducing cross-border fentanyl trafficking by 56% in just the first few months of his administration by closing our southern border and designating drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. Weekend Update - 6.7.26

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. It was great to join President Donald J. Trump in the Oval Office this week as he announced a $700 million investment for coal plants across the country and a new export terminal in California. Coal is critical to Pennsylvania’s economy, supporting 11,500 good-paying jobs across the Commonwealth. This is a major step in asserting America’s energy independence and managing energy prices for ratepayers. America needs clean, beautiful coal.

Weekly Update - 5.24.26

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. First, as we celebrate the Memorial Day weekend, I urge everyone to take time to honor the American service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation and the freedoms we enjoy in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I want to share a powerful quote from one of our greatest leaders, President Ronald Reagan: “I don't have to tell you how fragile this precious gift of freedom is. Every time we hear, watch, or read the news, we are reminded that liberty is a rare commodity in this world.” On Saturday,  I joined members of the Lycoming County community to begin ceremonies in observance of Memorial Day weekend. I was deeply moved by how many joined us, despite the poor weather, to honor those who gave their lives in defense of our country. It was so inspiring to be in the company of so many local heroes. We had heroes dating back to the Korean War in attendance.  Thank you to State Reps. Hamm and Flick, Mayor Slaughter, and Commissioner Metzger, for being here to commemorate our fallen heroes.
