A secure border is a basic responsibility of the federal government. America must control who enters our country, enforce its immigration laws, and stop the cartels that profit from drug smuggling and human trafficking. Supporting President Trump’s border security agenda means ensuring that enforcement has lasting support in Congress.

• Give border personnel the tools to succeed. Provide the staffing, technology, infrastructure, and resources needed to prevent unlawful crossings and protect our borders.
• Enforce immigration laws. Support the lawful removal of people here illegally, with priority on violent criminals, gang members, and individuals who threaten national security.
• Stop fentanyl and criminal trafficking networks. Strengthen inspections at ports of entry and coordination among law enforcement agencies to disrupt the organizations bringing deadly drugs into our communities.
• Protect vulnerable children. Combat human trafficking, strengthen safeguards against exploitation, and hold smugglers and traffickers accountable.
• Support law enforcement. Strengthen cooperation among federal, state, and local authorities while maintaining a fair and orderly legal immigration system.

Border security must be a lasting commitment. Congress must help keep our borders secure, uphold the rule of law, and protect the safety of American families.
