Weekly Update - 5.10.26

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms across Pennsylvania and around the country! We’re grateful for everything you do.

I’ve been lucky to have three amazing mothers in my life—my wonderful mom, Maeve, my mother-in-law, Rosemary, and my wife, Shelley, who is an incredible mother to our three children,

Last week, Republicans acted to fund most of DHS, despite Democrat leadership’s refusal to fund the whole agency. Now, Congress has begun the reconciliation process to finish the job and resume paying our dedicated immigration and border agents.

Watch my conversation with Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business where I discuss the path forward on reconciliation, FBI director James Comey’s recent indictment, and more! Click here or below to watch.

Democrat leadership’s shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security put perceived political gain over national security.

Fortunately, Secretary Mullin and the many dedicated agents at the TSA and other Homeland Security agencies stepped up during the chaos that the shutdown created.

Watch my appearance on “Varney & Co.” on Fox Business where I discuss what’s at stake and why our pro-America agenda is resonating with the American people as we approach our 250th anniversary. Click here or below to watch.

On Wednesday morning, I joined “Wake Up America” on Newsmax to discuss Republican’s efforts to fund all of DHS and how President Trump’s agenda continues to resonate with the American people. Click here or below to watch.

On Tuesday, I joined Jimmy Failla on Fox News Radio to discuss Pennsylvania’s untapped energy potential.

Broadcasting from Wilkes-Barre, Jimmy and I also explored how the Trump administration is addressing the unchecked growth of the federal bureaucracy, ballooning federal spending, and much more. Click here or below to listen.

I had a great time joining the John Fredericks on “John Fredericks Show” this week to discuss Republican efforts to reopen DHS, secure our elections, and more!

John Fredericks is a patriot and titan of talk radio. I look forward to joining him again soon. Click here or below to listen.

NOTE: I will be appearing on WVIA for several airings this week. I am participating in panel discussions on illegal immigration, and deportations. The first show is to be aired tomorrow, Monday, March 11 at 7pm. Click here for more information.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: This was National Small Business Week, and owners are celebrating the historic wins President Trump and Republicans have secured to surge the development and growth of American made businesses.

Thanks to President Trump, American small businesses have been revived through the America First agenda:

  • The Working Families Tax Cuts secured massive victories for small businesses, including securing the permanent small business deduction, restoring full expensing for equipment and expansion investments, No Tax on Tips and Overtime, as well as expanding Opportunity Zones.
  • Launched a Deregulation Strike Force that has already eliminated more than $110 billion in regulatory costs for small businesses in just one year.
  • Delivered record capital to small businesses, securing $45 billion in loans to more than 85,000 small businesses.
  • Started the first-ever dedicated loan program for small manufacturers.
  • Launched the Make Onshoring Great Again Portal, helping small businesses source American-made suppliers.
  • Implemented new reforms including citizenship verification for loan applicants, relocating offices out of sanctuary cities, and cracking down on DEI-based contracting.

President Trump and Republicans are delivering an economy that works for everyone, providing historic investments for small businesses, and Making America Great Again.

I joined Senator Dave McCormick for a roundtable at Luzerne County Community College to discuss Pennsylvania’s role in our domestic energy production as well as the Senator’s recently introduced “Unlock American Energy and Jobs Act”.

We emphasized that while Pennsylvania is one of the leading energy-producing states in the country, there is still a greater need for policies that support our domestic energy production.

I appreciate the leaders from across Pennsylvania in energy, education, and labor for participating in this important conversation.

Later, I joined Senator McCormick and other leaders in touring Talen’s Freedom Natural Gas Plant in Salem Township.

The Freedom Generating Station opened in 2018 and generates over 1 GW of power, enough to supply electricity to nearly 1 million homes. This facility is highly efficient and represents a massive investment in expanding our electric grid's capacity and driving down energy costs for all.

Thank you to Talen Energy for working to deliver on our ever-growing need for cheap, reliable energy as Pennsylvania’s economy continues to grow.

On Tuesday, we spent a great evening at Bold Gold’s 10th Annual Event. I was joined by my wife, Shelley, PA Treasurer Stacy Garrity, many others for a wonderful evening celebrating leadership, service, and community impact.

Congratulations to Vince Benedetto and his team on the continued success of the Bold Gold Broadcast and Media Foundation. I was also glad to honor my friend, Robert Tamburro, who received the Atlas Award for Citizenship.

It was great hearing from Jimmy Failla as well, who brought plenty of humor to a fantastic evening. Broadcasting continues to play a vital role in keeping our communities informed, connected, and engaged, and the Bold Gold Broadcast and Media Foundation is doing important work to support the future of the industry.

We had a great crowd yesterday afternoon as we hosted a rally in support of Senator Lisa Baker and her reelection campaign. Supporters, elected officials, and community leaders from across the region came together with one clear message: Senator Lisa Baker is the proven conservative leader Northeastern Pennsylvania needs in Harrisburg. The energy in the room made it clear that Pennsylvania’s 20th District is ready to keep Lisa Baker in the State Senate on May 19th.

Thank you to the Greenlee family Jim, Marnie, Paige and Ryan and all their staff for putting together such an incredible event. And thank you to everyone who came out in overwhelming support of Lisa Baker and our campaign efforts. Alongside strong leaders like Lisa, we will continue fighting to make a difference for the families, businesses, and communities we represent.

Please make a plan to vote. To find your polling place, please click here.

May God continue to bless our nation. I look forward to seeing you soon,

Dan Meuser
