Republicans in Congress and the Trump administration have worked and will continue to work to lower prescription drug costs through Most Favored Nation pricing, lower energy costs, expand responsible American energy production, secure the border, and stop billions in fraud against American taxpayers.

Recently, I joined the Sam LeSante Show for an update on our work in Washington and how it impacts communities across Pennsylvania’s Ninth District and the entire Commonwealth.

We talked about the progress we’re making to put more money back in the pockets of hardworking Pennsylvanians—from lowering taxes and reducing prescription drug costs to delivering tax relief for seniors on Social Security. That also means protecting people from those who try to take their hard-earned money through consumer scams and rooting out fraud that wastes taxpayer dollars.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Vice President Vance laid out how President Trump and his administration are working tirelessly to uncover the rampant fraud Democrats enabled for years and restore faith to our government programs. 

Here are the highlights:

• Vice President Vance explains how Medicaid fraud exploded under Biden: “The government isn’t even checking whether the people enrolled are actually eligible for the program.”
  
  
• Vice President Vance: “The amount of money that we’re stopping from going to fraudsters today – $2.2 billion dollars…that means that we are saving 550,000 American children's worth of healthcare.”
  
  
• Vice President Vance: “We found a fraud ring that had 40 agents, 40 brokerage agents, who had funneled 50,000 people into the Obamacare system fraudulently…most of those people were not eligible…many of those people quite literally didn’t even exist.”
  
  
• Dr. Oz: "Obamacare, had 10 million enrollees from 2015 to 2020. During COVID, it went up to 22 million people...about 35% of the current Obamacare system…have never used the program...that's just not possible...we know there is fraud.”

• Dr. Oz: "1.1 million people came onto the Obamacare programs with no Social Security Numbers, no ID numbers to allow us to figure out if they're legally here and they’re getting full-freight insurance paid by you, the U.S. taxpayer."

Democrat candidates across the country have opposed the Working Families Tax Cuts which combatted fraud in taxpayer-funded programs.

While Democrats are voting against fraud investigations and refusing to show up for hearings on exposing fraud, President Trump’s administration and Republicans are once again cleaning up Democrats’ mess and restoring faith and security to our government programs. 

I had an engaging conversation this week with members of the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce at their legislative breakfast.

I had the opportunity to discuss our work in Congress to support entrepreneurs and small businesses, including provisions in the Working Families Tax Cuts Act that permanently extend the Section 199A Small Business Deduction, expensing for domestic R&D research, and 100% bonus depreciation.

Much of our discussion focused on our work to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government, as well as trade, energy, and affordability for families and businesses.

We also discussed the importance of the Williamsport Regional Airport and our efforts to renew commercial flight service to the region.

I’d like to thank Chamber Board Chair Jay Alexander and CEO Jason Fink for hosting an outstanding event, and State Representative Hamm and County Commissioners Metzger, Sortman, and Mussina for joining and adding their voices to the conversation.

I have been leading the effort to crack down on these schemes in Congress by educating consumers, improving coordination between government, law enforcement and telecom companies while working to increase penalties for the perpetrators.

These calls are more than a hindrance, they cost Americans billions of dollars a year. These resources are an important step to protect yourself and your family from fraud and scams.

President Trump is the first leader in decades to lower prices for your prescription medication. Not just curb rising costs, but actually lower drug costs for millions of Americans.

Through Most Favored Nation drug pricing, the Administration will save Americans an estimated $600 billion over the next decade.

My Most Favored Patient Act would codify this policy and establish a permanent framework to enforce future cost-saving arrangements.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright joined Congressman Ryan Mackenzie, Senator Jarrett Coleman, and I in Pennsylvania for a roundtable discussion on rising electricity demand, grid reliability, customer affordability, and what Pennsylvania needs to support economic development.

After our discussion with local stakeholders, the Secretary announced a $71.5 million investment to modernize Northeast Pennsylvania’s electric grid.

This investment will strengthen reliability and increase deliverable power from roughly 1,600 megawatts to 4,650.

Since day one, President Trump and Secretary Wright have led the effort to unleash domestic energy production and modernize America’s electric grid to provide abundant and affordable electricity to Pennsylvania families and businesses.

Had a great meeting this week at BNY’s Pittsburgh office with President Mike Keslar and his team to learn more about their AI cybersecurity facilities and their commitment to growing Pennsylvania’s skilled workforce.

Pennsylvania is home to BNY’s AI Research Hub, where they’ve committed $10 million over five years to build an AI Lab in conjunction with CMU. This partnership represents BNY’s dedication to developing and retaining Pennsylvania’s best and brightest.

I also met with US Steel CEO Dave Burritt in Pittsburgh to discuss their growth and historic investment in US steel supporting thousands of jobs in Pennsylvania.

My team will be set up at the Bloomsburg Fair for the entire week to provide assistance with federal agencies and casework.

As Pennsylvania’s largest agricultural fair, the 171st Bloomsburg Fair is a great place to connect with our office, learn more about the services we provide, and enjoy the festivities. I look forward to being there this week, and our team will be on hand throughout the fair.

On Friday, it was great to be in Pittsburgh with so many supporters who care about Pennsylvania and our country’s future. We had a strong turnout and valuable conversations about keeping our economy growing, supporting the businesses that create jobs, and making sure Pennsylvania is a place where our industry and workers can thrive.

I was glad to have Stacy Garrity, our candidate for governor, and Jason Richey, our candidate for lieutenant governor, join us and share their vision for moving Pennsylvania forward.

Great to be in Pittsburgh for the PAGOP State Committee meeting and Fall Dinner. I joined Attorney General Dave Sunday and my House colleague, Congressman GT Thompson, for a panel on our work to protect Pennsylvanians, from fighting consumer fraud and scams to rooting out waste in government.

It was also great to spend time with conservatives from the 9th district and across the Commonwealth. There’s a great deal at stake on November 3, and everyone in the room understands the importance of the work ahead.

This morning, Shelly and I attended the Tunnels to Towers National Run & Walk in New York City. This year, we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, honoring FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller, the 343 FDNY firefighters, law enforcement, and all who sacrificed their lives. The course retraces Stephen Siller’s final footsteps from the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center. The event supports the Tunnel to Towers Foundation which provides mortgage-free homes to catastrophically injured service members, Gold Star families, and fallen first responder families.

The Democrats plan to win the upcoming election is not a secret. They are counting on YOU not showing up to vote. We need to disappoint them and Swamp the Vote. Our statewide, congressional, and state legislative candidates are counting on you to support them, so they can continue to bring conservative victories home for the people of our Commonwealth. 

Debate Update:

I’m looking forward to participating in the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce’s Congressional Debate on October 20 at 7 p.m. at Penn State Schuylkill’s John E. Morgan Auditorium.

I look forward to highlighting our work on behalf of Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District and discussing the work still ahead.

The last day to apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot is October 27. Completed ballots must be received by November 3 by 8:00 p.m. 

Ballots are starting to go out. Over 25,000 ballots have been requested in Luzerne county and will be mailed this week. Drop box locations are Penn Place Building at 20 N. Pennsylvania Ave. in Wilkes-Barre and Hazleton City Hall, 40 N. Church St. in the city.
