This week, the House passed the Ratepayer Protection Act, which codifies President Donald J. Trump’s mandate that data centers commit to providing their own power. The legislation passed the House overwhelmingly. Unfortunately, the bill stalled in the Senate when one Democrat objected to its passage.

From LA to Philadelphia and Los Angeles, fraudsters have been stealing billions of dollars from federally funded programs. Up until President Donald J. Trump and Vice President JD Vance, nobody has done anything about it. That has changed with this Congress and this administration.

As scammers get more sophisticated, we all need to take steps to protect ourselves.

Caller ID is not always reliable because scammers can change their phone number to make their requests seem legitimate. If a caller pressures you to act immediately, hang up, ignore any links they send, and call the legitimate company using the number on the back of your bank card or a trusted app.

Last week’s midterm convention was a great idea on the part of the president. Most importantly, it was a great opportunity for us to demonstrate the contrast between what Republicans are about and what socialist Democrats are about. They want open borders, we want secure borders. They want amnesty, we want rule of law. They want an assault on domestic energy, we want responsible energy development.

President Trump has rescinded the Obama-era Executive Order used to impose the rain tax on Luzerne County residents and businesses. I have long advocated for the remove this burdensome tax. Click hereor below to read my full statement.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: President Trump announced that all 50 States’ Medicaid programs will benefit from lower prescription drug prices under his agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers to match the lowest prices paid by other developed nations (known as the most-favored-nation, or MFN, prices).

• Under the GENEROUS Medicaid Payment Model, participating pharmaceutical manufacturers will provide State Medicaid programs with rebates on expensive brand-name drugs to ensure the final price to Medicaid does not exceed the MFN price.
  • The model includes hundreds of individual drugs, across virtually all major drug classes, including those acutely important to Medicaid beneficiaries like oncology, diabetes care, and asthma.
• Due to the President’s MFN deals, Medicaid programs have already benefitted from one million free prescriptions of Eliquis, a widely used drug for heart disease. 

SAVING TAXPAYER DOLLARS WHILE MAINTAINING COVERAGE FOR THE MOST VULNERABLE: The Council of Economic Advisers has estimated that taxpayers will save $64.3B over the next decade in the form of lower Medicaid drug costs for all 50 States. 

• As Medicaid costs are shared by both States and the Federal government, CEA estimates that $36.6B in savings will accrue to the Federal government and $27.6B to State governments.
• These savings will unlock significant capital for States to invest in other initiatives to better care for their most vulnerable residents. 
• President Trump’s MFN agreements not only include lower prices for Medicaid, but also lower drug prices for direct-to-consumer purchases through TrumpRx.gov, guaranteeing MFN prices on all new innovative medicines brought to market and direct lower prices for consumers in the United States. 

LOWERING COSTS FOR AMERICANS: President Trump’s decisive and historic actions are lowering drug prices for the American people and ending pharmaceutical companies’ practice of charging American patients up to three times more than patients in other developed nations for the same drug.

• Since its February launch, patients have saved more than $700 million on medicines through TrumpRx.gov, including massive discounts on popular medications used to treat obesity and infertility.
• In July of 2026, senior citizens without access to GLP-1 coverage to treat obesity gained access for just $50 per month. In the two months since the launch of this program, 600,000 seniors have saved a total of $216 million dollars on these life-changing medicines. 
• The Council of Economic Advisors estimates the total savings from President Trump’s MFN deals to reach $600 billion over the next decade.

For more than a year, the Financial Services Committee Republicans Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, which I chair, led an in-depth investigation into the growing prevalence of fraud and scams facing American consumers.

Our investigation found that Americans lost $16 billion to these schemes in 2025 alone, with the true toll likely closer to $200 billion due to underreporting. From veterans and small businesses to seniors and young people, everyone is vulnerable.

I took to the House floor to speak in support of the GUARD Act, legislation that will address many of the issues we identified in our investigation and give law enforcement the tools needed to combat sophisticated criminals. Click here or below to watch.

I want to thank U.S. Department of the Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for joining us in the Financial Services Committee to discuss your efforts to combat international money laundering networks, transnational fraud and scam syndicates, and financing for terrorist organizations.

My colleagues and I on the Financial Services Committee Republicans appreciate your partnership in protecting Americans and stopping our adversaries from abusing the international financial system.

This week, Vice President JD Vance addressed House Republicans and offered remarks on the accomplishments of the Trump-Vance Administration, as well as the plans moving forward to strengthen our national security, grow and strengthen our economy, and bring common-sense solutions to the challenges facing our society.

The extreme Democratic-socialist plans being pushed by the Left have no place in America. There is nothing “democratic” about socialism. America must remain a nation where individual liberty defines our future, not government control.

Earlier this week, I spoke in support of two common-sense pieces of legislation that would help the federal government win the war on taxpayer fraud.

H.R. 9576, the National Fraud Enforcement Division Act, would codify the successful National Fraud Enforcement Division at the DOJ. Since its founding in April, this Division has carried out over 1,200 major fraud actions.

While H.R. 10326, the PROOF Act, would require state agencies administering federally funded programs to provide the DOJ access to vital data that would help track down fraudsters and recover stolen taxpayer money.

While you would think that supporting these bills to combat the fraud that we have seen across this country, including hospice fraud in Los Angeles and childcare fraud in Minneapolis, would be a bipartisan endeavor, it sadly is not. Rather than supporting our efforts to crack down on fraud, Democrats are fighting for the fraudsters.

This week, I met with representatives of the Pennsylvania Automotive Association on Capitol Hill.

We discussed the importance of preserving Pennsylvania’s trusted car dealers and erasing government-mandated EV sales that limit consumer choice and increase vehicle costs.

Judge Jeanine Pirro joined us at the Capitol to brief members of Congress on the United States Department of Justice’s efforts to combat scams, particularly sophisticated schemes operated by transnational criminal organizations.

The DOJ’s Scam Center Strike Force has been instrumental in our joint efforts to disrupt fraud networks at home and abroad. This includes a recent operation in conjunction with Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General Dave Sunday in Philadelphia that uncovered more than $4 million in fraudulent claims submitted to Medicare and Medicaid.

Thank you, U.S. Attorney Pirro, for your leadership and partnership in protecting hardworking Americans, holding criminals accountable, and fighting fraud wherever it occurs.

In a House Committee on Small Business markup this week, I spoke in favor of the Combatting Foreign Threats to Main Street Act introduced by Chairman Roger Williams.

This bill would require the SBA and agencies across the federal government to develop educational materials to help American small businesses identify, address, and report foreign-linked fraud and economic threats, especially from adversaries like China and Russia.

As chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee on Financial Services, I've led the committee's efforts in combating consumer fraud and scams. As these schemes become more elaborate, we must remain vigilant and address threats as they evolve. Click here or below to watch my remarks.

During the Biden administration, we saw how unelected bureaucrats at the CFPB quietly used informal tools like guidance letters to force banks into cutting off lawful industries from financial systems.

Thankfully, during the Trump administration, much of that guidance was withdrawn. But permanent change is needed to ensure future administrations cannot intimidate and drive lawful businesses out of financial systems just because they don’t like them.

I had an informative discussion with Ben Barcovtch of Barcovtch Bros Farms and Kolton Reasy of Country View Family Farms, representatives of the Pennsylvania Pork Producers, about the issues facing the pork industry in our Commonwealth.

We discussed their support for Farm Bill provisions that will prevent states like California from imposing their own livestock production standards on pork producers in other states and the need to address workforce issues so that farms can have the reliable labor they need to maintain their operations.

Pennsylvania’s pork producers support jobs, strengthen rural communities, and help feed our nation. I appreciate the opportunity to hear directly from producers and will continue to ensure they have the tools they need to compete and succeed.

Where you live should not determine the quality of healthcare that you can get or how long you live. But for too long, getting the right care for rural Pennsylvanians meant traveling long distances, waiting too long to see a specialist, or going without care altogether.

Thanks to President Trump and the Working Families Tax Cut Act’s Rural Health Transformation Program, Pennsylvania is receiving $193 million to invest in new ways to bring better care closer to home.

I joined Dr. Oz to discuss the local impact of the GOP’s Rural Healthcare Transformation Fund, President Trump’s Most Favored Nation drug pricing policy which has lowered the prices of pharmaceutical drugs in the U.S., and our joint efforts to combat taxpayer fraud in healthcare programs.

To build on our work fighting fraud in healthcare programs, I’ve joined Vice President JD Vance’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, along with a small group of House and Senate members, to root out fraud, protect taxpayer dollars, and ensure these programs serve the Americans who truly need them.

As Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, I’ve also made combating fraud and scams a top priority. We’ve held roundtables, produced public service announcements, and engaged directly with federal agencies, law enforcement, financial institutions, telecom companies, and social media platforms to advance solutions to protect Americans from scams and financial fraud. It was a pleasure to join the Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturers & Employers Association for their Congressional Luncheon.

I appreciated the opportunity to speak directly with our region’s manufacturers and employers about some of the most pressing issues facing their industries and the work we’re doing in Washington to help them compete, grow, and create good-paying jobs here in northeastern Pennsylvania.

It was also great to be joined by State Representatives Joanne Stehr, Tim Twardzik, and Jamie Barton, along with Commissioners Larry Padora and Boots Hetherington.

We had a productive discussion on the federal issues that matter most to our businesses and employees, including pharmaceutical pricing, workforce challenges, energy costs, regulations, and President Trump’s efforts to strengthen American manufacturing.

Our manufacturers and employers are a critical part of our regional economy, and I’ll continue working to ensure they have the tools and opportunities they need to invest, innovate, grow, and succeed.

Mike has shown that he is a dedicated community leader who cares deeply about the people and communities he hopes to represent. He understands that serving your community isn’t about party, it’s about listening to people, working hard, and getting things done.

Mike is putting in the work every day, and it was great spending the evening with him, his wife Ashley, and dozens of supporters from across the 121st District who are confident he will represent their community well.
