Weekend Update - 10.18.26
Dear Friend,
Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update.
Under the Biden administration, government bureaucrats pressured and threatened banks to stop doing business with certain industries like fossil fuels, firearms, digital assets, and religious organizations.
My Financial Services Committee Republicans Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations exposed this effort, and this week’s U.S. Comptroller of the Currency report confirmed many of our findings.
This goes way beyond the scope of the federal government’s authority, and it’s exactly what Democrats will do if they regain power in Washington.
My colleagues and I on the Financial Services Committee have advanced legislation to ensure future Democrat administrations cannot pressure banks into carrying out their far-left ideology. I joined “Varney & Co.” on Fox Business to discuss. Click here or below to watch.
I recently joined Fox News to discuss the upcoming midterm elections.
We have the better candidates, the plans, and the policies. Republicans are focused on lowering taxes, securing our borders, growing our economy, and limiting government overreach.
Today’s Socialist Democrat Party offers a very different vision. One of higher taxes, open borders and a larger role for Washington in Americans’ lives. Voters deserve to understand where each party stands and what those policies would mean for Pennsylvania and our country.
That’s why it’s so important for every voter to make their voice heard, whether by voting early or heading to the polls on November 3. The direction of Pennsylvania and our country is on the ballot.
An informed voter will be a Republican voter. Click here or below to watch.
We also discussed the findings from my Financial Services Committee Republicans Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee report on public housing authorities.
Our investigation found that the Biden Administration allowed housing authorities across the country to fail, leading to unacceptable living conditions and wasting taxpayer dollars. HUD Secretary Turner and President Trump have begun implementing solutions to fix these issues, and I look forward to introducing policy that will address our findings. Click here or below to watch.
Each dollar stolen from federal programs isn’t just a loss for taxpayers - it’s also a dollar that never reaches Americans who need it most.
I am proud to be a member of Vice President JD Vance’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud and to sign the Pledge to Protect Americans from Fraud.
As Chair of the Financial Services Committee Republicans Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, I am working to identify and eliminate both taxpayer fraud and consumer fraud to protect taxpayer dollars, deliver accountability, and ensure federal programs continue to serve those who truly need them

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Democrats Vow to Grant Mass Amnesty to Millions of Criminals
Over the weekend, Bernie Sanders vowed that if Democrats gain control, they will grant mass amnesty to the millions of criminal illegal aliens they let pour into our country under Biden.

In their own words, Democrats want to hand over citizenship to millions of criminals:
- Abdul El-Sayed: "We need a pathway to legal immigration for folks."
- Jon Ossoff: "I will go to Washington to...provide a path to legal status for folks who are living in the shadows."
- James Talarico: "We've got millions of people who are living here in the shadows, and there is no path for them to come into compliance."
- Angie Nixon: “I support a comprehensive and clear pathway to citizenship for folks.”
- Peggy Flanagan: "We need an immigration system grounded in....making sure that we have a pathway to citizenship."
- David Jolly: “I still think we need a pathway to legal status.”
- Tom Suozzi: "My biggest goal of what I want to accomplish in politics right now is I want to legalize 7 or 8 or 9 or 10 million people in our country."
- Gabe Vasquez: "That includes legal pathways to residency... for many folks that are here and that have been here for many years."
- Jamie Ager: “People that have been here for 20 years [who] still don't have legal status....finding someway for pathway to citizenship for those folks."
- William Lawrence: “We should immediately legalize all of the undocumented individuals who are residing within the United States."
- Randy Villegas: "We need to make sure we have an immigration system that actually allows our neighbors...a path to residency, the path to citizenship..."
- JoAnna Mendoza: "Yes, we do need to create those pathways [to citizenship], and we need to start now..."
Democrats have made it clear they don't care about the consequences of their failed policies even when innocent lives are harmed and lost at the hands of illegal aliens.
Democrats protect criminals, not Americans.

I spent a great evening in Sullivan County at their GOP’s annual Fall Dinner! It’s always a pleasure to connect with the people of Sullivan County, including Commissioner Brian Hoffman, and the dedicated volunteers and supporters working to deliver Republican victories.
Thank you to Chairman Don Cicero and the Sullivan County Republican Committee for a wonderful evening and their hard work throughout the year.
With so much at stake on the ballot this year, we must carry this energy through Election Day, protect our House majority, and elect Republicans up and down the ballot. Make your voice heard, get out and vote by November 3rd!

On Monday, we celebrated Columbus Day, honoring Christopher Columbus and his historic voyage of 1492, which opened a new chapter in world history and paved the way for the exploration and settlement of the Americas.
Columbus’s courage and determination helped usher in an era of discovery that would ultimately shape the founding and development of the United States of America.
This s a day for Italian Americans and, of course, all Americans to reflect on our history, the great things that we have done, and our consistent pursuit to form a more perfect union
Happy Columbus Day!

On Tuesday, I had a great time visiting the Columbia Montour Area Vocational-Technical School in Bloomsburg today.
Vocational and technical schools provide students with affordable programs that train our workforce for tomorrow’s competitive careers.
I have been a strong advocate for vocational and technical programs and their students by fighting to expand Workforce Pell Grant eligibility and supporting the House passage of the Connecting Small Businesses with Career and Technical Education Graduates Act.
Thank you to everyone at Columbia Montour Area Vocational-Technical School for having me, and to the culinary students for providing a great lunch.

Later, I joined members of the Columbia-Montour Chamber of Commerce for their legislative lunch.
During the event, Chamber President & CEO Christian Berleth moderated a discussion between Alan Novak and T.J. Rooney on the areas where both parties can collaborate to deliver results for the American people. As a member of the Problem Solver’s Caucus, I’m committed to finding common ground and delivering bipartisan legislation that will cut through partisan gridlock.
I appreciate the opportunity to participate and thank you to all our outstanding Columbia and Montour business leaders for fueling our local economy and supporting job growth.

Wednesday’s U.S. Comptroller of the Currency report exposes how far Biden-era debanking went to pressure banks to cut off Americans for their politics, faith, and lawful businesses.
My Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee has exposed this overreach since our first hearing on Operation Choke Point 2.0 and in our report on Biden's debanking of digital assets.
Financial Services Committee Republicans are working to end debanking for good. My SAFE Guidance Act stops regulators from using unofficial guidance to pressure banks, and Congressman Andy Barr’s FIRM Act permanently ends the "reputation risk" standard Biden regulators used to discourage institutions from banking lawful industries like firearms and crypto.
Thank you to Comptroller Gould and OCC for their work to expose this overreach, and I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure a future administration cannot repeat Biden’s mistakes. Click here or below to read more.
Great to be in Lebanon County alongside Senator Dave McCormick for the annual Lebanon County Republican Committee Fall Dinner!

Election Update:
We are just 16 days to Election Day 2026 on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
I have faced a challenge in every election I've had. That's democracy and I am proud to campaign and be graded by our constituents every election. Unfortunately, my opponent this year is a Soros operative who supports the radical socialist agenda. She not only supports that agenda, she was employed by the Soros network.
Every American has the constitutional right to peacefully protest, and the public deserves transparency about who organizes and funds these demonstrations.
No Kings organizers include Indivisible, which has received tens of millions from billionaire anarchist George Soros’ foundations, in addition to groups affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America and Communist Party USA. These organizations are only trying to fool you. They are hypocrites who stand for government control and against our constitutional rights and freedoms. That is very much what this election is about: the heart and soul of our country.
My opponent spoke at a previous No Kings demonstration and worked for Hopewell Fund and Roosevelt Forward, organizations that primarily existed because of Soros funding. Voters deserve transparency about these financial connections, especially from a candidate who campaigns against dark money.
My opponent, with her ties to the Soros network, can play the activist. I’m focused on implementing policies that deliver results and strengthen our country.
WE ARE ON THE AIR!
Check out to our latest radio ad running across the 9th District. I discuss my background, my commitment to serving Pennsylvania’s 9th District, and why I’m asking for your vote on November 3rd. Hear directly from me. Click here or below to listen.
The Democrats plan to win the upcoming election is not a secret. They are counting on YOU not showing up to vote. We need to disappoint them and Swamp the Vote. Our statewide, congressional, and state legislative candidates are counting on you to support them, so they can continue to bring conservative victories home for the people of our Commonwealth.

I’m looking forward to participating in the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce’s Congressional Debate on October 20 at 7 p.m. at Penn State Schuylkill’s John E. Morgan Auditorium.
