Weekly Update - 3.19.23

Good evening and welcome to our Weekend Update.

First, I must address the news regarding President Donald J. Trump. President Trump shared that he may be arrested next week in New York City. While we are still awaiting more information, it appears this action is more about politics than the law. This radical district attorney, Alvin Bragg, who has consistently turned a blind eye to violent criminals, is executing a political prosecution against President Trump. President Trump is currently the leading Republican presidential candidate, and I don't believe what is happening is a coincidence.

I suspect the American public will see through this stunt for what it is... the worst of the swamp and desperate politics.

This week, I joined Maria Bartiromo on “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business to discuss the Silicon Valley Bank collapse, fueled by the policies of the Biden administration. The root causes of the issues in our banking industry are directly tied to the Biden administration’s reckless spending and the Fed’s consistent raising of interest rates. We will be paying close attention to this to ensure the Biden administration keeps its word that no taxpayer dollars will be used to bail out the Silicon Valley Bank. Click here or below to watch my interview.

I joined “The Evening Edit” on Fox Business alongside Vivek Ramaswamy to discuss the Silicon Valley Bank collapse and the response by the Fed. Click here or below to watch my interview.

Additionally, I joined “Wake Up America” on Newsmax to discuss the inflationary policies of the Biden administration and the rapid rise in interest rates that resulted, which has led to this current situation. Click here or below to watch my interview.

Lastly, I spoke with Bob Cordaro on WILK Newsradio regarding the recent bank failures. Click here to listen.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Biden’s border policies have fostered a huge threat to our national security.

Joe Biden’s border crisis is so significant its scale is hard to imagine. Including “gotaways,” over 6.1 million illegal border crossings have occurred since Biden took office.

Compounding the problem, we learned this week that 1.3 million illegal “gotaways” have escaped into the U.S. under Biden. We don’t know who these people are, where they are, or why they entered the country.

But while Republicans work to stop Biden’s border crisis, where are Democrats? Boycotting hearings on the border.

The Biden administration’s policies have created a crisis at the border. Biden’s blind insistence on reversing President Trump’s border policies has resulted in the largest border crisis in our nation’s history. Building the wall and the Remain in Mexico policy helped to secure the border. Unfortunately, Biden’s political agenda has cost American lives as deadly fentanyl illegally crossing the border is at an all-time high. We must address the crisis at the border, and the House Republican majority will be the tip of the spear in pushing an agenda that secures our border.

Around the District:

I started our week at the Wilkes-Barre St. Patrick’s Day parade with my dogs, Nala and Gigi. They joined me as we walked the crowded street.

This week, we visited Towanda, Bradford County, where we toured Global Tungsten Powders (GTP). On our tour, we were joined by former GTP employee State Treasurer Stacy Garrity and Bradford County Commissioners Doug McLinko and Daryl Miller.

After visiting Towanda, we headed to Susquehanna County Career and Technical Center (SCCTC) with State Senator Lisa Baker. We started with a great meal prepared by their culinary program. We then took a tour of many of the other great programs they offered there, Including nursing, welding, auto repair, and their CDL course.

After our visit to SCCTC, we joined the staff of The Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains/Commonwealth Charitable Management in Montrose to hear about their amazing work helping others through the generous donations of many.

We ended our visit by stopping at C2G Energy Solutions, Montrose, a facility with innovative wastewater treatment solutions.

A special thank you to Bill DeRosier from Coterra for helping organize stops in Susquehanna County at C2G, SCCTC, The Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains/Commonwealth Charitable Management, and the famous Morris Baker Dinner. We got an in-depth education on how the energy industry has so positively impacted Susquehanna County.

Additionally, I want to thank one of Susquehanna County’s and Pennsylvania's best, Morris Baker, for his tremendous hospitality, great food and company this past week.

We enjoyed the Friendly Sons of Pittston’s Saint Patrick’s Annual Dinner on Friday with some of Luzerne County's best. (Pictured below with great friends Tom Burke, Joe Burke and Joseph Burke)

Until next week, God bless, and see you soon,

Dan Meuser
