Good evening and welcome to our Weekend Update.
Shelley and I send our best wishes and prayers to President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump on a speedy recovery. Get well soon and stay strong! Our nation needs you!
With much of the nation’s thoughts, prayers and concerns focused on the President and First Lady’s health, I joined Neil Cavuto on Fox Business to discuss the considerable steps the President and his team undertake to promote safety and public distancing. I also reflected upon my own personal experience with Covid-19. Click here or below to watch my interview.
Additionally, I appeared on WHP-21 to discuss the President's health and his campaign event last week in Harrisburg. Click here or below to watch.
I spoke with WGN America on Speaker Nancy Pelosi's decision to delay action on a Covid-19 related relief package for small businesses and hardworking Americans. Pelosi’s $2.2 trillion proposal deliberately included stimulus checks for illegal immigrants, repeal of the SALT tax cap which would amount to a huge tax reduction to the very wealthy. This would particularly benefit millionaires in high tax blue states like New York, where Mike Bloomberg would have a tax windfall of nearly 100 million! Her proposal also includes a Federal takeover of elections, renewing the $600 unemployment supplement, hundreds of billions of state bailout payments to cover costs and obligations that were generated and existed before the Covid-19 pandemic. Unbelievably, her plan includes a $600 million reduction of police funding from the Speaker Pelosi's previous Heroes Act. These are just a few of the alarming provisions I found unacceptable and not focused on recovery, law and order, protecting people’s health and fighting the virus.
As we approach Election Day, I conducted a number of interviews. Click here to listen to an interview on WITF with Scott Lamar. Additionally, I conducted an interview with Fox56, which can be viewed by clicking here or below.
In addition, I appeared on WHP-580's RJ Harris Show. Click here to listen.
I again want to wish a speedy recovery to the President, First Lady and anyone who is suffering from coronavirus.
Please be safe and have a great weekend.
