State Senators Argall and Rafferty Support Meuser’s Property Tax Elimination Proposal

LUZERNE COUNTY:  Last week, Dan Meuser, Republican candidate for United States Congress, released his proposal to require states to abandon school property taxes. Today, State SenatorsDave Argall (Schuylkill/Berks Counties) and John Rafferty(Berks/Chester/Montgomery Counties) applauded Meuser’s proposal to eliminate school property tax.

The State Senators released a joint statement that reads, “Like us, Dan Meuser understands that hardworking Pennsylvanians, especially our seniors living on a fixed income, should not be forced out of their homes because of rising property tax costs. If elected to Congress, we believe Dan’s proposal will help protect Pennsylvania homeowners and finally free us from the scourge of school property taxes.”

“I am proud to have the support of these State Senators for my proposal to eliminate school property taxes,” Meuser said. “As I have stated previously, I believe school property taxes are unconstitutional and un-American, as no tax should have the power to leave you homeless.”
