Weekly Update - 7.13.25

Good evening, and welcome to our Weekend Update. July 13, 2024– A day our Nation will never forget. A day that never should have happened. A day that must never happen again. I was in Butler, Pennsylvania, that day, along with many great people, friends, and colleagues. We heard the shots ring out—and feared the worst. Then moments later, we watched President Donald Trump rise up, lift his fist, and with his words, “Fight! Fight! Fight,” the world witnessed a triumph of spirit that will never be stopped.  God Bless America. We commend the agents and officers of the Secret Service and law enforcement for their dedicated service and responsiveness. Unfortunately, there were leadership and management lapses that have been corrected under the new leadership of Secret Service Director Sean Curran. We should say a prayer for the Comperatore family and be grateful that President Trump has survived and is leading our country to greatness. Myself, Rep. Kelly, and Senator McCormick are pictured just to the right of President Trump. The shooter can be seen in the top right, circled in red. Click here or below to watch.

Weekly Update - 7.5.25

Happy 4th of July weekend, and welcome to our Weekend Update. The major news this week was the passage and signing of President Donald J. Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB). My constituents have made it clear: They want border security, lower taxes, American energy dominance, and fiscal responsibility. That’s exactly what the OBBB delivers. ✅ Secures the border—regardless of who’s president ✅ Stops a historic tax hike on working families ✅ Prevents 40% tax increases on small businesses ✅ Unleashes U.S. energy production to lower costs and fight inflation ✅ Delivers real savings and responsible growth This bill helps make America—and Pennsylvania—Great Again.

Weekly Update - 6.29.25

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. Despite a months-long, good-faith diplomatic effort led by President Trump, the Iranian regime refused to abandon its nuclear ambitions. Every opportunity for a peaceful resolution was rejected. President Donald J. Trump's actions were both justified and necessary. The United States carried out a successful, targeted strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. This operation sent a clear and unmistakable message: Iran must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon. These sites were at the core of a regime that funds terror, destabilizes the region, and threatens America and its allies. A nuclear-armed Iran would endanger Israel, inflict global instability, and put countless lives at risk. Thanks to the extraordinary precision of our Armed Forces, the mission was executed flawlessly, and all aircraft returned safely.

Weekly Update - 6.15.25

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update on Father's Day.  Before we begin with this update, Shelley and I, my family, and I’m sure all Americans, are shocked and terribly saddened by the tragic, ruthless, cold-blooded shooting of innocent public servants in Minnesota. The incendiary rhetoric, hate, and violence must stop. My family mourns and prays for the victims and families of this horrific act.  Yesterday, I joined President Donald J. Trump to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States Army. For 250 years, the Army has defended freedom, taken down dictators, defeated the Nazis, and protected the American people—spreading peace, democracy, and American strength across the world. Seeing our military’s history and technology on full display is a powerful reminder of all we must be proud of. This was a celebration of patriotism, service, and the greatest fighting force the world has ever known. Before the celebration, we attended a reception at the White House. Weekly Update - 6.8.25

Good morning, and welcome to our Weekend Update. Before we begin with our recap, I want to condemn in the strongest possible terms the unlawful attacks on our brave ICE agents yesterday in Los Angeles. There is no place in society for those attacks, and thankfully, President Donald Trump and the administration have taken decisive action to end these attacks against our federal law enforcement officers. Additionally, I want to comment on the ongoing string of violent, antisemitic attacks. They must be fully condemned. The targeting and killing of innocent people must be denounced by everyone: Republicans, Democrats, and all those in positions of leadership. This cannot be tolerated, ignored, or encouraged. Silence is complicity. These crimes on American soil must be punished severely and to the fullest extent of the law. No leniency. No excuses. On Tuesday, I conducted an interview on “Varney & Co.” on Fox Business to discuss the White House’s $9.4B rescissions package—likely the first of many. These packages will be a key step toward codifying President Donald J. Trump’s agenda and delivering lasting government spending reductions. With nearly $7 trillion in annual federal spending, we need to prioritize the "must-haves" over the "nice-to-haves" to address our enormous national debt. President Trump’s plan will reduce spending, grow the economy, and increase revenues, lowering deficits and improving our credit rating. It’s the fiscally responsible path forward and will benefit all Americans. Click here or below to watch.

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. It was great to be in Steel City with President Trump, celebrating the historic US Steel-Nippon Steel Deal. This partnership is very important for our economy, citizens, and national security. US Steel will remain in Pittsburgh, grow in Western PA, and the Mon Valley, and remain an American company! This was a day to celebrate a win for Pennsylvania, our citizens, our steelworkers, Pittsburgh, and the United States of America. Click here or below to watch my remarks. President Trump gave an inspiring speech about American strength, the importance of domestic manufacturing, and the value of the American worker. He is Making America Great Again. Weekly Update - Memorial Day Edition

Good afternoon, welcome to our Weekend Update, and join us in honoring our nation's heroes on Memorial Day! As we pause to honor our fallen heroes on this solemn holiday, I remember the words of President Ronald Reagan, who once said on Memorial Day in 1982 at Arlington National Cemetery: "The United States and the freedom for which it stands, the freedom for which they died, must endure and prosper. Their lives remind us that freedom is not bought cheaply. It has a cost; it imposes a burden. And just as they whom we commemorate were willing to sacrifice, so too must we - in a less final, less heroic way - be willing to give of ourselves."

Weekly Update - 5.18.25

Good evening, and welcome to our Weekend Update. With the support of the Republicans in Congress, the Trump Administration is revitalizing the financial services industry with a clear focus on pro-growth, pro-investment, and pro-American policies: ✅ Regulations are being streamlined to make American businesses more competitive ✅ Basel III is being reconsidered in a capital-neutral way. ✅ Debanking is being eliminated. ✅ Access to capital is expanding. ✅ Energy and borrowing costs are down. ✅ Tariffs are improving access to new, foreign markets. ✅ Key Trump Administration regulators like Travis Hill, Jonathan Gould, Paul Atkins, and Michelle Bowman are advocating for clear, bright-line, pro-growth rules. ✅ Going public is becoming affordable again, and the number of IPOs is already increasing

Weekly Update - 5.11.25

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update.  I’ve been lucky to have three amazing mothers in my life—my wonderful mom, Maeve, who raised me, my wife, Shelley, an incredible mother to our three children, and my mother-in-law, Rosemary, who gained a son when I married her daughter. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms across Pennsylvania and nationwide! We’re grateful for everything you do!

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. In just 100 days, President Donald J. Trump has worked to strengthen our national security, create an America-First economy, deliver taxpayer savings, restore global leadership, and bring commonsense back to Washington. The border is secure, American energy is recovering, jobs are coming back, inflation is falling, and military recruitment is surging—among many other things. President Trump has a plan that will lead to long-term success for the United States. I joined House Republicans at media row to highlight President Trump's many accomplishments in his first 100 days. I joined "Newsline" on Newsmax to discuss the President's first 100 days and the latest on the "big, beautiful bill." Click here or below to watch.
