Good afternoon, welcome to our Weekend Update, and GO BIRDS! On Friday, President Donald J. Trump delivered major news for Pennsylvania. He announced that he helped make the Nippon-U.S. Steel deal better for America, for Pennsylvania, and American steel. This deal directly results from President Trump's problem-solving, business-minded leadership. While it’s still conditional, we fully support and appreciate his critical review which will help ensure U.S. Steel remains strong. We’re making U.S. Steel Great Again for Pennsylvania. We’re Making American-Made Steel Great Again for our country!

Good morning, happy Groundhog’s Day, and welcome to our Weekend Update. For those who didn't watch, Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter. First, I want to send my heartfelt prayers to the families of the victims of the tragic plane crash in Northeast Philadelphia that occurred on Friday evening. A medical plane crashed shortly after takeoff from the Northeast Philadelphia airfield. I want to thank the brave first responders working to take care of the victims and clean up the large crash site. We will learn more about why this accident occurred in the coming days. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and all the residents of Northeast Philly.

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. The wait is over. President Donald J. Trump has been sworn in as the 47th President of the United States of America. President Trump's inauguration marks a defining moment for America. His bold leadership will restore confidence in the American dream, secure our borders, unleash energy production, grow the economy, and put America First.

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. This week, I officially signed my Oath of Office after being sworn into my fourth term in Congress. I am grateful for the trust the people of Pennsylvania’s Ninth District have placed in me as I continue serving as their representative in Washington. Over the next two years, I will work with President Trump and our unified Republican Congress to advance commonsense solutions that put America First and benefit all Pennsylvanians.

Weekly Update - 1.5.25

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. Happy New Year, and I pray that you and your family had a Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and a joyous holiday season. First, I want to address the horrific attacks that took place in New Orleans and Las Vegas. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims of these senseless attacks.  The vacuum of leadership from the Biden Administration has led to instability around the world. From threats coming over the border to the disastrous withdrawal in Afghanistan, which allowed the Taliban to seize control, to ongoing threats from Hamas and Hezbollah, this Administration’s weakness has created an environment, incubators, where terrorism thrives and where individuals—both abroad and domestically—become radicalized. The last four years, President Biden and Democrats have focused on DEI instead of IEDs. We need real leadership back in the White House, and on January 20th, the American people will get that with Donald Trump. His team will lead the DOJ, FBI, Homeland Security, and CIA — putting the handcuffs on the bad guys and not on law enforcement, allowing them to do their jobs effectively. I joined "Mornings with Maria" on Fox Business to discuss further. Click here or below to watch.

We are all ready and excited to Make America Great Again as we work to enact an America First agenda.

Weekly Update - 12.15.24

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. Yesterday, my son, Danny, and I joined President-elect Donald J. Trump, Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, Elon Musk, Speaker Mike Johnson, our next White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, our Commonwealth's next U.S. Senator Dave McCormick, and many other great patriots at the 125th Army-Navy Football Game — an enduring tradition that embodies the bravery, camaraderie, and unwavering dedication of our nation's military. It was quite a day and game. Watching my son discuss energy production and clean energy ideas with Elon Musk was surreal. My son, Danny, is a geology and environmental science major at Bucknell. He is graduating and heading to the Navy. Our new US Senator, Dave McCormick, led the effort to get this great group together. Dave will bring many positive, exciting opportunities to Pennsylvania. President Trump is always generous, hospitable, and personable, and he likes keeping positive energy in the room. Many well-known cabinet members were in attendance. Daniel Penny was also there. Daniel served as a Marine. He and my son spoke at length. I was so impressed by Danny Penny. Incredibly humble, polite, demure. He knows his actions to protect his fellow citizens were necessary. Nevertheless, Danny is so humble, with no pretense, and even somewhat embarrassed by his notoriety.  Anyway, I thought it important to share that so you can understand how nice a young man he is.   Thank you for the opportunity to serve. I won’t kid you; it’s a lot of work every day. But there are also some great opportunities, such as attending the Army-Navy game with the President, US Senator, and my son, that I do not take for granted and very much thoughtfully appreciate.

Weekly Update - 12.8.24

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. On Saturday, we paused to recognize the 83rd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor—a day that will forever live in infamy. This defining moment in our history resulted in the tragic loss of more than 2,400 Americans, all of whom made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We honor their memory and the bravery and resilience that continue to define the enduring legacy of the American spirit. This week, I spent nearly an hour and a half with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to discuss their Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) plans. I asked questions and shared my recommendations on rooting out waste, fraud, redundancies, and unnecessary bureaucracy in the federal government. DOGE will prevent the federal bureaucracy from becoming an unelected fourth branch of government.

Weekly Update - 11.24.24

Good evening, and welcome to our Weekend Update. This week, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled against Democrats' attempts to break election laws by counting defective ballots. This ruling ensures that Dave McCormick will be our next U.S. Senator. I again congratulate Senator-elect McCormick and look forward to working with him in Washington. That said, Democratic officials publicly calling to defy election laws were met with outrage by many, but not Governor Josh Shapiro. The idea that our sitting governor and former attorney general wouldn’t make a statement when the law is being defied is disturbing and disconcerting to voters and all of Pennsylvania. It should not matter if those officials are from his own party.  Check out my “Big Money Show “interview on Fox Business. We discussed the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling against Democrats as they blatantly violated election law, blue-state politicians planning to defy Trump’s immigration orders, and the Biden Administration’s recent escalation of the Ukraine-Russia War. Click here or below to watch.

Weekly Update - 11.17.24

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. It was great to hear from President-Elect Donald J. Trump on Wednesday as he joined House Republicans to outline his plan to get our country back on track. From securing the border to growing our economy and restoring energy dominance, his agenda is what is needed to Make America Great Again. I look forward to working with the President and my colleagues to deliver for the American people.
