Good afternoon, and Weekend Update. The radical left-driven Democrat leadership is choosing obstruction and chaos over the American people. They are demanding to defund ICE, stop enforcement against criminal illegal immigrants, and expose ICE agents to mobs. Republicans already had ample funding in the original DHS Appropriations bill for body cameras and de-escalation training. What some Democrats really want is to force our federal law enforcement officers to remove their masks, putting them and their families at risk from doxing and harassment stirred up by Democratic leaders. What we need is cooperation from Democrats, major cities, and their law enforcement to secure our nation and protect American lives. Republicans will always choose law, order, and a secure border. He’s fighting fire with water. He’s focused on winning and restoring safety in cities where protests, lawlessness, and a refusal to cooperate with federal law enforcement have taken hold.
Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. Hey friends, and happy Sunday. As we deal with this powerful winter storm, please be careful out there. I took a ride around the neighborhood in my back mountain community where I live to get a feel for the road conditions. The plows are out in full force, both private and public. However, the conditions are really severe. The snow keeps coming, and we already have 10 inches with 8 more inches on the way. The temperature is 12 degrees, which could make being outdoors very dangerous. If you do go outside, dress warm, wear gloves and be prepared for the worst. My son and I actually helped a lost dog find its way home this morning. Please keep a close eye on your pets as well. I want to begin by addressing the situation in Minneapolis. The leadership in Minnesota, Minneapolis and other Democrat leaders around the nation have created a powder keg situation and are deliberately trying to ignite it. This is not about the people in the street protesting; this is entirely about the Minneapolis leadership. First off, they are corrupt. We’ve seen arrests and billions and billions of dollars in fraud. They continue to demonize ICE and completely agitate the situation. We must investigate Governor Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Mayor Jacob Frey, who have never once told the protesters to go home. In fact, Walz has encouraged protesters to engage and fight in the streets. He has blood on his hands. Democrats and Joe Biden allowed perhaps as many as 20 million illegals to enter our country over four year period. Many of these individuals have serious criminal offenses, beyond just being here illegally. A driving force behind President Trump's successful campaign was his promise to close the border (which he has done) and enforce our illegal immigration laws. The men and women of ICE are enforcing the law and risking their lives to do their jobs. While things are not going perfectly, we must all ask why this has occurred, understand how it occurred and expose those who are deliberately making it worse to hide their own lawlessness. It is important to note that in cities like Memphis and throughout Texas, there are many more criminal illegals being rounded up by ICE with the cooperation of the local law enforcement and elected officials. Proof that these operations can be done in a proper manner. The leadership of Minneapolis is creating a powder keg and doing their best to ignite it. The loss of life is tragic. Investigations will take place. Justice will prevail... it must. I am scheduled to be on Fox News at 4 pm, where I am sure I will be asked about this ongoing situation and the Democrat threats to shutdown government.

I will always strive to keep you, my friends and neighbors, up to date with the latest in D.C. and the District. On Saturday of last week, President Donald J. Trump greenlit a targeted mission in Venezuela focused on protecting American lives and confronting evil that threatens our country. Nicolás Maduro has presided over a regime marked by arbitrary arrests and detentions, torture, extrajudicial killings, disappearances, repression of dissent, and serious restrictions on freedom of expression and political opposition. These abuses have contributed to a humanitarian crisis and widespread suffering for the Venezuelan people. His regime has also welcomed corrupt Russian and Chinese influence that enriched his regime and their criminal enterprises while hollowing out Venezuela’s economy. This is a side of the story the media has too often failed to tell. Maduro has been indicted in U.S. courts, and an arrest warrant was issued for his crimes related to narcotics trafficking and cartel violence. He will now face justice.

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update. I want to acknowledge the tragic murders of two American soldiers and an interpreter in Syria yesterday by ISIS. Three other soldiers were injured in the attack. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of those killed and injured. This was an attack on America, and as the President said, "we will retaliate." The recent shooting at Brown University and the targeted attack on a Hanukkah celebration in Australia must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. Antisemitism, whether expressed through violence, threats, or intimidation, has absolutely no place in our society. Every ounce of it must be denounced. It cannot be accepted, excused, or forgiven. Jewish communities deserve to live and worship in peace, without fear. We stand with them and firmly against hatred in all its forms.
