Weekly Update - 3.15.26
Dear Friend,
Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update.
Earlier this week, I joined “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business to discuss how President Donald J. Trump’s plan to end Iran’s reign of terror will help restore stability in the Middle East.
As these operations continue, the House will soon consider additional funding to ensure our military has everything it needs to protect American interests and lives abroad. At the same time, Democrats in Congress need to stop playing politics and vote to fully fund DHS so our homeland security agencies can operate at full strength once again.
They should also pass the common-sense SAVE America Act to ensure election integrity. The American people overwhelmingly support it, and the Senate must get it done. Click here or below to watch.
A more stable Middle East benefits the U.S. and our allies, and many countries in the region that have long lived under the threat of Iran’s regime want to see that change.
For too long, world leaders kicked the can down the road, lifting sanctions and sending billions that only empowered the regime to fund terrorism against Israel, its neighbors, and the West. President Trump has taken a different approach. Instead of passing this problem to the next generation, he is confronting it head-on.
While there may be short-term economic concerns, the fundamentals of the U.S. economy remain strong. America is energy resilient, and markets are already stabilizing after perceived threats in the Strait of Hormuz disrupted trade.
We’re two weeks in, but I believe an end is in sight. The result will be a safer world without a terrorist state threatening global security and regional stability. Click here or below to watch.
It was great to welcome SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler to our Commonwealth this morning for a visit to Kriger Pipeline in Dickson City alongside Congressman Rob Bresnahan Jr.
We toured the facility and met with Butch Kriger, his family, and his employees to learn how this third-generation company plays an important role in building and maintaining utility infrastructure across Northeastern Pennsylvania.
We also discussed the many ways their business is benefiting from the WFTC, including no tax on overtime for their employees, along with my efforts to cut burdensome regulations, increase access to capital, and advance policies that help businesses across Northeast Central PA invest, grow, and hire.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: inflation remains low as President Trump and Republicans lower costs for Pennsylvania families:

New inflation data released this morning shows that inflation remains low as President Trump and Republicans work to lower costs for American families.
The latest Consumer Price Index shows inflation rose just 2.4% over the past year, while core inflation came in at 2.5%, remaining in line with expectations.
After four years of skyrocketing prices under Joe Biden and Democrats, inflation is down, and wages are rising as President Trump and Republicans work to reverse Bidenflation and make life more affordable for Pennsylvania families.
President Trump’s policies are already delivering results for hardworking Americans:
- Egg prices have plummeted nearly 50% since President Trump took office
- Energy commodity prices are down more than 5%, and used car prices are down over 3% from last year
- Rent prices have fallen to their lowest level since 2022, marking the largest annual drop in more than two years
- Mortgage affordability has surged to a four-year high, lowering monthly payments for homebuyers
- Real earnings for private-sector workers are growing faster than inflation
- Consumer sentiment has climbed to a six-month high
President Trump and Republicans have also taken action to lower costs through the Working Families Tax Cuts, the largest tax cut in American history, which increased take-home pay for families by as much as $13,300.
After suffering through Bidenflation, President Trump and Congressional Republicans continue our work to bring down costs and improve affordability for Pennsylvania families. From lowering energy and housing costs to bigger paychecks and larger tax refunds, Republicans are helping Americans keep their money where it belongs – in their wallets.

On Friday, I held a Financial Services Committee Republicans Oversight & Investigations Committee hearing to fully understand how certain failures within the Little Rock Housing Authority were allowed to persist for so long, and to ensure the necessary fixes are put in place.
That’s why our first hearing on this topic, held on February 10th, included letters to 32 Public Housing Agencies that were troubled, demanding solutions and coordination with HUD.
I look forward to continuing this work to ensure that residents of Little Rock and all public housing residents can have confidence in their housing authorities. Click here or below to hear my opening comments.
Witnesses described past schemes involving straw buyers and shell corporations used to conceal property ownership, as well as evidence uncovered during federal investigations into financial misconduct tied to numerous housing operations. While certain individuals connected to these schemes have been prosecuted, questions remain about whether full accountability has been achieved. Stabilizing the housing authority will require stronger coordination and clearer communication from HUD, along with support to help restore proper management and oversight.
Republicans in Congress will continue oversight over federal housing programs to ensure these programs are managed responsibly and that the well-being of residents and taxpayers is top of mind. Click here or below to watch.
This hearing revealed the scale of misconduct occurring at the Little Rock Housing Authority. Nepotistic hiring. Contracts steered to friends and family. Housing resources were misused, ineligible individuals were placed in public units, and appliances were reportedly taken for personal use.
The current leadership also inherited a disaster. Records weren't kept. Systems weren't maintained. Years of dysfunction left the authority without the basic infrastructure needed to function, let alone recover.
The physical condition of these properties tells the same story. Streets, signage, and buildings have deteriorated. Families are living in conditions that fall well short of what public housing should be.
This hearing is an important step toward accountability — and that means keeping the pressure on investigations into past misconduct, working with HUD to clean up finances and operations, and securing the resources needed to repair these properties and get families back into safe, livable homes. Happy Pi Day, PA-09. Wishing everyone a transcendental day!
Thank you to Andrea Heckman and her math class at Hamburg Area High School for the great Pi Day t-shirt.
I appreciate the thoughtful gesture and the work you’re doing to make math fun and engaging for your students.

CAMPAIGN UPDATE:
Thanks to your help, we have officially filed to qualify for the ballot. Thanks to your help, we have collected nearly four times the required number of petition signatures.

Our campaign is focused on continuing to highlight the many accomplishments of the Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans. We must ensure we keep the Republican majority in the United States House.
On Wednesday evening, I was honored to attend the Berks County Republican Lincoln Club Reception last evening and to serve as the evening’s guest speaker. It was a pleasure to address so many committed Republicans and discuss the work ahead as we continue advancing our shared conservative priorities.
It is always good to see my colleagues at the state level, Representatives Dave Zimmerman and Eric Weaknecht, and to connect on the issues impacting our communities.
Thank you to the Berks County Republican Committee for hosting a great event, and a special thank you to Chairman Jim Billman for all of your hard work and leadership.

May God continue to bless our nation. I look forward to seeing you soon,

Dan Meuser
