Former Secretary of Agriculture George Greig Endorses Dan Meuser for Congress

POTTSVILLE – Today, the Meuser for Congress Campaign announced that Dan Meuser, Republican nominee for the 9th Congressional District, has received the endorsement of former Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture George Greig:

“Dan Meuser is a passionate public servant who is focused on results, not rhetoric,” said Greig. “Working together with Dan and with the help of many others, we were able to eliminate the death tax on local family farms. Dan also responded quickly and extended the date to file state taxes for farmers from March 1 to April 15, keeping the deadline consistent with the federal requirements that year. Prior to serving as Revenue Secretary, Dan had a successful business career helping to grow Pride Mobility Products into a large company employing hundreds. Pride makes mobility devices that serve the disabled and are manufactured in Luzerne County and distributed throughout the United States and the world. Pride is one of the best companies in the state and has been named one of the best places to work over a dozen times. Dan will bring his business knowledge to Congress to help support the agricultural community and I am proud to support his campaign.”

Dan added, “George Greig is an experienced farmer, businessman and leader. His service to our Commonwealth as Secretary of Agriculture was exemplary. He always worked in the interests of Pennsylvania farmers and put their issues first. George is highly respected in the agricultural industry, and I haven’t met one farmer who knows him that does not praise his service. I am excited to have his endorsement and look forward to continuing to receive his counsel on important issues regarding the agricultural industry.”

George Greig is the former Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture and township supervisor in Conneaut Township. Greig has also served on the USDA Farm Service Agency Pennsylvania State Committee, the Crawford County Conservation District, and the Great Lakes Regional Water Board.

Dan Meuser is a Candidate for U.S. Congress. Dan has served both as a private sector businessman responsible for helping create thousands of jobs and as Secretary of the Department of Revenue for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Dan has been endorsed by countless elected officials, including those in the agricultural industry, including Chair of the AG Republican Committee Mike Firestine, Keith Eckel, Keith Masser and Boots Hetherington.
