Weekly Update - 2.11.24

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update.

On Friday, I joined President Donald J. Trump at the NRA's Great American Outdoorsman Show at the PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. I was honored to greet President Trump in Pennsylvania! As we strive to correct the course of our nation, we need his leadership now more than ever. President Trump even gave us a shout-out in Harrisburg. See below.

After the event, I talked with President Trump about winning Pennsylvania and winning again for our country after an outstanding speech at the NRA’s Great American Outdoors show at the PA Farm Show Complex!

On Thursday, a report was released from Special Counsel Robert Hurr on Joe Biden's mishandling of classified documents. In Hurr's report, he noted that Biden should not face charges because he is "an elderly man with a poor memory." Biden couldn't recall key details, including when he was vice president or his son died. It was a startling look inside Biden's current state of mind. Clearly, he has not been and is not of sound mind or remotely qualified to be the leader of the free world.

That evening, Biden called a primetime address to the nation that confirmed the train wreck will continue. While calling himself the "most qualified person" to serve, he also commented that he relies on the Mexican President of Egypt to negotiate the mid-east conflict. It's time to get rid of the Biden train wreck. Let’s go Trump train. Let’s save America.

The Biden Administration recently announced its most gas-backward energy policy decision yet – to pause all Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export approvals. This action threatens our economy and national security.

I spoke on the House Floor demanding Joe Biden reverse this inexplicable decision, which will significantly limit America’s ability to regain the energy dominance we secured under President Trump. Biden’s continued assault on American energy, including on the natural gas industry, is an assault on Pennsylvania’s businesses and workforce. This Administration needs to check its extreme ideology at the door and focus on outcomes. They need to wake up and woke down. Click here or below to watch my remarks.

This week, I questioned Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on heavy-handed government regulations that will only hurt American businesses and their customers. The Treasury and Fed do not seem to care about the costs their regulations will impose, but I do. Click here or below to watch.

Ideological District Attorneys, backed by George Soros, have orchestrated a misguided social experiment in our cities, leading to rampant chaos and disregard for basic law and order. My legislation, The Holding Prosecutors Accountable Act, will force prosecutors to fulfill their duties and play a crucial role in reducing violent crime. This week, I joined “The Big Money Show” on Fox Business to discuss this issue. Click here or below to watch.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T READ IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: The southern border is in crisis… and 100% of the blame rests on Biden and the Biden Democrats.

REMINDER: Biden inherited all the legal authority he needs to end the border crisis.

He’s just not interested in doing it.

The tell came in January, when DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas signaled Biden wouldn’t accept additional border funding if it “could only be used for detention and removal” — NOT to release illegal immigrants into the country.

Doing so would be a big blow to Biden’s immigration policy of “catch, release, and resettle.”

Biden took office by immediately dismantling the Trump administration’s successful border security measures — paving the way for millions of illegal immigrants to be bussed directly into U.S. communities. Yesterday, Biden even admitted he wants mass amnesty for those millions of unvetted illegal aliens.

If Biden was serious about reversing his intentional border crisis, he could do it right now by halting all illegal immigration and expelling the illegal immigrants his administration has already resettled.

He won’t — because it’s intentional.

It's always a pleasure welcoming President Harker of the Philadelphia Fed to my DC office. We discussed various economic headwinds, the future of interest rates, and what's next for small businesses in Pennsylvania.

I was happy to meet with Matthew Citino, President of the  Council of Prison Locals 3020. We discussed issues facing FCI Schuylkill and the workforce hurdles encountered at the prison. I voiced my support for the Pay Our Correctional Officers Fairly Act, which ensures our hardworking correctional officers receive fair and competitive compensation for their invaluable service.

On Wednesday evening, I attended a great event in Wilkes Barre Township where many candidates came together to rally for the upcoming Primary Election on April 23rd. The room was full of many great patriots excited to see Republicans be elected and re-elected this fall. (Pictured below speaking and with Rep. Mike Cabell, State Treasurer Stacy Garrity, and Congressional candidate Rob Bresnahan.)

This week, I will file my petitions with the Pennsylvania Department of State to get my name officially on the ballot as I seek re-election for the great people of the 9th Congressional District. We will file over 200% of the necessary signatures required, and that’s thanks to many great volunteers across the district who helped circulate my petitions. There are so many to thank, but I especially want to thank Dick Harris, Diane Elliot, Senator Dave Argall, Senator Lynda Schlegel Culver, State Representative Russ Diamond, Pat Daly, Johnny Kroppa, Christine Verdier, and Representative Robert Leadbeter.

If you have additional signed petitions, please contact Nate at [email protected] to ensure they are filed by the deadline. Thank you.

Finally, I want to thank everyone for the Birthday wishes. I hope everyone enjoys a fun Super Bowl.

We look forward to catching up with you next week. God Bless, and see you soon,

Dan Meuser
