Weekly Update - 12.17/23

Good evening, and welcome to our Weekend Update.

Bank records, text messages, emails, sworn testimony, and more point to President Biden’s involvement in his family’s shady business dealings. With every rock the House investigation turns over, another snake crawls out. The evidence is mounting, and formalizing the impeachment inquiry is necessary to ensure we uncover the truth for the American people. Hunter Biden must comply with Congressional subpoenas; if he doesn’t, he’ll go to jail. I joined Newsmax's "American Agenda" for an interview on this issue. Click here or below to watch.

Meanwhile, the Democrats continue their practice of lying and denying clear evidence of Hunter's transgressions. Unfortunately, there are clear facts they are ignoring, including:

  • Tony Bobulinski — Hunter's former business partner — admitted Joe Biden was the "Big Guy" involved in a shady Chinese energy venture and due for payment.

  • Devon Archer — Hunter's former business partner and best friend — said Hunter put then-VP Joe Biden on speakerphone at least two dozen times during meetings with foreign associates.

  • Multiple "highly credible" IRS whistleblowers who provided extensive evidence of a coverup within Biden's DOJ. Bank records, emails, calls, photos, texts, visitor logs, and sworn witness testimony all refute the Biden family's years of lies.

America deserves answers about the extent of Joe Biden's involvement in Hunter's crimes.

And while Joe Biden believes he deserves a second term, Americans disagree. Several swing state polls have President Trump leading Biden. Trump leads in 5 of 6 swing state polls. See below.

Next year, we must re-elect President Donald Trump. The polling shows the American people agree. Polls show President Trump leading amongst several key demographics and expanding support in demographics that have typically been loyal Democratic voters.

"Black voters — long a bulwark for Democrats and for Mr. Biden — are now registering 22 percent support in these states for Mr. Trump, a level unseen in presidential politics for a Republican in modern times."

Nearly two weeks ago, Americans were shocked when University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill said students calling for the genocide of Jewish individuals would only violate the code of conduct if speech turned into action. Since Hamas attacked Israel, Jewish students on campuses across the country have experienced a constant atmosphere of harassment and fear. It’s outrageous, and the failure of leadership starts at the top. Liz Magill's resignation was highly deserved. I joined the “Fox Report with Jon Scott” on Fox News to discuss. Click here or below to watch.

The Biden Administration's overspending by $6 trillion has led to sky-high inflation, soaring energy and food prices, and rising interest rates. American families have been forced to spend an additional $11,000+ a year to keep up with the effects of Bidenomics. Republicans are fighting to slow the White House’s excessive spending. I joined “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business this week to discuss the issue. Click here or below to watch.

We continued to focus on the economy this week in Washington. We had the pleasure of welcoming Nick Boyle, a resident of the 9th District, to testify before the House Small Business Committee. As the CEO of Northern Keystone Towing & Recovery, owner of seven other businesses in our region, and a committed community volunteer in Schuylkill County, Mr. Boyle embodies the American entrepreneurial spirit. I thank him for providing the Committee with valuable insight into the current state of Main Street America and his advocacy of policies that would benefit small businesses nationwide. Click here or below to watch the hearing.

The reality is that job creation doesn't come from the Government itself; rather, the Government’s role is to foster an environment where business owners can thrive and generate employment opportunities on their own. Unfortunately, President Biden’s anti-growth policies have saddled small businesses with burdensome regulations, making it harder for them to grow.

Entrepreneurs are already battling inflation and rising interest rates, and this Administration is only making it more difficult for them to succeed. Another reason it is so critical to win back the White House by re-electing President Trump.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Another month and another bill American families are paying for “Bidenomics.”

Congress’s Joint Economic Committee estimates Bidenflation cost the average American family $940 in November alone and will cost the average American family $11,280 over the next 12 months.

Since Biden took office, the average family has lost over $19,800, paying for the increased cost of living. Here’s the money Americans have lost paying higher:

  • Energy costs: $3,737
  • Food costs: $2,647
  • Shelter costs: $3,133
  • Transportation costs: $7,405

Despite what the White House says, costs are not going down. It’s no mystery why Americans hate the Biden economy – the “Bidenomics” price tag keeps increasing.

Access to capital remains one of the most significant challenges facing small businesses. That’s why I have introduced the ACCESS Act. Raising the crowdfunding exemption can give entrepreneurs a cost-effective method to raise capital without paying a cost-prohibitive fee. Learn more by clicking here.

The Biden Administration's controversial strategy of appeasement toward Iran and Venezuela marks a significant shift from President Trump’s approach. Both Iran and Venezuela are escalating their military efforts, threatening international security. By prioritizing appeasement over strength, U.S. foreign policy runs the risk of undermining peace and instead empowers hostile regimes. Adopting a maximum pressure campaign would effectively curtail Iran's role as the center for terrorist activities in the Middle East and across the world. The U.S. House Financial Services Committee held a hearing with Marshall Billingslea, the former Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing, Dr. Ryan Berg, Director of the Americas Program, Center for Strategic and International Studies, and Claire Jungman, Chief of Staff of United Against Nuclear Iran. Click here or below to watch my remarks.

Later, the U.S. House Financial Services Committee held a hearing with Biden’s Office of the Special Envoy for Iran. Biden’s Deputy Special Envoy to Iran, Abram Paley insisted Iran was not to be trusted. Yet, this Administration takes Iran at its word that it won’t use the billions of dollars in aid Biden is trying to give them to finance terror. We need to put American interests first, not Iran’s. Whole milk is a healthy choice for our children. It has 13 essential nutrients that kids need, such as calcium, protein, iron, Vitamin D, and more. Yet schools have been prohibited from serving whole milk to our children since 2010. To say whole milk is unhealthy for kids is “udderly” ridiculous. This week, the House did the right thing for families and dairy farmers by passing the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act. Click here or below to watch my floor remarks.

My colleague and fellow Pennsylvanian, Congressman G.T. Thompson, sponsored this bill. G.T. is the House Ag Chair. Pictured below right after the bill passed.

I enjoyed meeting with Lycoming County Commissioner Scott Metzger, Director of Administration Matt McDermott, and Director of Planning and Urban Development Shannon Rossman in Washington to discuss issues related to Lycoming County and our work to benefit the region. We spoke about the FAA reauthorization, Williamsport Airport, necessary improvements to the Williamsport levee, and community-funded projects that I’m advocating for that would benefit residents and businesses across Lycoming County.

This week, we celebrated the 387th birthday of The National Guard.

I am honored to have the Pennsylvania National Guard headquarters inside Pennsylvania’s 9th District at Fort Indiantown Gap in Lebanon County!

Thank you for your selfless service and for embodying the motto "Always Ready, Always There" since 1636.

During this holiday season, I sincerely thank our brave military men and women serving worldwide who are steadfast in their commitment to safeguarding our nation. In an effort to express our appreciation, our office is sending care packages to active-duty personnel stationed in Yuma, Arizona, San Diego, California, and the Middle East, as well as to members of Seal Team 8 in undisclosed locations. To those unable to celebrate the holidays with loved ones, I thank you for your service and sacrifice and wish you a very Merry Christmas.

I attended the Pennsylvania Chamber’s 39th Annual Dinner on Thursday evening in Hershey. The Pennsylvania Chamber and my friend, President and CEO Luke Bernstein, are working very hard to make Pennsylvania a more competitive place to do business. They had a very successful dinner with over 1,800 attendees. I am pictured below with Pennsylvania Auditor General Tim DeFoor, Luke Bernstein, and former Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan.

On Friday, I attended the Northeast Leadership Christmas Party with Shelley, where many great leaders came together to celebrate the holiday season. Shelley and I are pictured with our dear friend Donna Cosmello.

I attended the Wreaths Across America Ceremony held at Northeast Bradford School in Bradford County on Saturday. I spoke about the importance of this tradition and the mission of Wreaths Across America, which is to “Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom.” After the ceremony, we went to Stevensville Cemetery and placed wreaths on the graves of our nation’s fallen servicemembers to pay tribute to their service and sacrifice.

Lastly, Shelley and I got a special message from Santa Claus. We appreciate Santa taking time out of his busy schedule to reach out! Click here or below to watch.

I hope each of you has a happy, healthy, and very Merry Christmas!

We look forward to catching up with you next week. God Bless, and see you soon,

Dan Meuser
