SHAVERTOWN – Dan Meuser, candidate for the 11th Congressional District, released the following statement on the passage of historic Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:
“President Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is a huge win for Pennsylvania families and job creators in the 11th Congressional District. This legislation will spur job growth, especially American domestic employment, and increase wages. I applaud Senator Pat Toomey, Congressman Lou Barletta and Congress for getting this hallmark achievement to the President’s desk.
“This plan cuts taxes by over $2,000 for the average family in the 11th Congressional District by reducing the tax rate, doubling the standard deduction, doubling the child tax credit and eliminating the individual mandate under Obamacare.
“In 2016, voters in our area overwhelmingly stood up and voted for President Trump because they wanted the people's government to live within its means and allow Pennsylvania families to keep more of their hard-earned pay. Congress still has a great deal of work to do to Make America Great Again, but this is a big step in the right direction.”
